HVAC FAQs
Please read the following information carefully and completely. In doing so, you should find answers to most of the questions you have regarding our Program. The HVAC Apprenticeship Program consists of five years’ training both on the job and in the classroom. If you have previous education and/or work experience, the length of your apprenticeship may be shortened. If you are accepted into the Program, you will be given a job with a Union Contractor with starting wages of $21.03 per hour, depending on your qualifications. In addition, you will attend classes at the Training Center two nights per week, and one Saturday each month, beginning in September and continuing through April each year. Apprentices are not required to attend classes during the summer months but will continue with on-the-job training during that time.
This is a non-profit organization funded by the membership of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 344 and the Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling Contractors (PHCC) signatory to the collective bargaining agreement negotiated by the Union. Therefore, the only cost to the student is the fee for textbooks. Textbook fees are due each year when school begins.
